HOMOSEXUALITY DISCUSSED
In discussing this
subject, it is not this author’s intent to judge those caught in this kind of
behavior. As with every sin, there is
forgiveness and deliverance for all who call on the Lord. That being said, we must deal with this
important subject.
The homosexual and
lesbian act is not a disease, it is not a condition acquired at childhood. It is a sin.
The Bible declares it to be not only a sin, but an ‘abomination’. That
is, an act against God’s created order … contrary to nature.
Those of this persuasion
will relentlessly quote Scripture (the Bible) with texts taken completely out
of context. They try to make it say what
they want it to say. So, I shall use
Scripture in its proper context at an introduction.
In what is called the
Levitical Law of the Bible, the following is recorded:
If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both
of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their
blood shall be upon them. (Leviticus 20:13) *
God gave this law through Moses. It is a moral issue. It is listed with these other moral laws:
·
'The
man who commits adultery with another man's wife, he who commits adultery with
his neighbor's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress, shall surely be put to
death. (Leviticus 20:10)
·
The
man who lies with his father's wife has uncovered his father's nakedness; both
of them shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them.
(Leviticus 20:11)
·
If a
man lies with his daughter-in-law, both of them shall surely be put to death.
They have committed perversion. Their blood shall be upon them.
(Leviticus 20:12)
·
If a
man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an
abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them.
(Leviticus 20:13)
·
If a
man marries a woman and her mother, it is wickedness. They shall be burned with
fire, both he and they, that there may be no wickedness among you.
(Leviticus 20:14)
·
If a
man mates with an animal, he shall surely be put to death, and you shall kill
the animal. (Leviticus 20:15)
·
If a
woman approaches any animal and mates with it, you shall kill the woman and the
animal. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood is upon them.
(Leviticus 20:16)
Although the specified penalty, death, is not carried out
today, for reasons beyond the scope of this work, these are still moral
issues. Those who break these laws sin
against God. It is His standard, not
ours.
Let’s look at another passage of Scripture:
For
this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against
nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in
their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and
receiving in themselves the penalty of their error
which was due. And even as they did not like to retain God in their
knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are
not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality,
wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit,
evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent,
proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing
the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are
deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice
them. (Romans 1:26-32)
This is an interesting passage. Here, the Lord is describing the events that
occur in a morally decaying society. Of course, He lists a number of cultural
sins, those being murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness, backbiters,
etc. However, the subject of homosexual
and lesbian behavior is clearly covered here. It is clearly not acceptable in
God’s eyes.
One does not have to know anatomy very well to know that a
men and women are physiologically complementary. That is not the case regarding men with men
and women with women. It is ‘contrary to
nature’. It is an affront to God’s
created order, and He clearly condemns it.
There are those of a liberal slant that say that the
passages above were penned by the Apostle Paul, not Jesus. However, they fail to understand that
whatever the Apostle Paul says in the New Testament, Jesus is saying as
well. It is ALL God’s Word.
Homosexual
Marriage
God will never accept homosexual marriage. Although this might be accepted by federal
and local governments, although two homosexuals or lesbians may go through the
‘wedding ceremony’, they will still not be married in God eyes. When they come together sexually, they will
be committing the sin of fornication.
Their civil wedding ceremony will not be recognized. They will be living in sin every time they
come together.
Let’s take a look at what the Bible says about marriage:
And
the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one
of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman,
and He brought her to the
man. And Adam said: "This is now bone of my bones And
flesh of my flesh; She shall be
called Woman, Because she
was taken out of Man." Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother
and be joined to his wife,
and they shall become one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed. (Genesis 2:21-25)
This is the record of the first marriage. It was a marriage between Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.
Marriage is between a man and a woman, period.
God NEVER intended for this to be perverted into anything else. All through Scripture, God blesses marriage
between a man and a woman, but condemns any union between two men or two
women. And, by the above definition,
marriage cannot occur otherwise.
God never changes His mind.
Jesus
Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8)
For assuredly,
I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no
means pass from the law … (Matthew
5:18)
God’s Word never changes with social norms, public
opinion, political correctness, or even liberal church theology. In regard to this subject, homosexual
behavior was sinful in the beginning, and is still so today.
If you are a homosexual or lesbian, God can deliver you
from this sin that has you bound. Jesus
died on the cross as payment for our sins, and He alone can set you free.
Please read below … don’t turn away now!
Some truths first:
Everyone sins- for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, (Romans 3:23)
The consequence of our sin is
death - For the wages of sin is death, but
the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
Jesus Christ died on the cross
for our sins - … Christ died for our sins
according to the Scriptures … (1 Corinthians 15:3)
The Lord wants us to repent of
our sins and turn to Him - The Lord is …
not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. (2
Peter 3:9)
Those who put their faith in
Jesus Christ will gain eternal life - For God so
loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in
Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
Get alone with God and in
prayer:
·
Confess (agree with God) that you are a sinner and that you
repent of your sins.
·
By faith, receive Jesus Christ’s death on the cross as payment
for your sins.
·
Invite Jesus Christ into your heart and receive Him as your
personal Lord and Savior, asking Him to forgive you your sins.
·
Thank Him for saving you and for giving you eternal life.
If
you prayed with a sincere heart conviction, you have been saved, based on God’s
unchangeable promise. He has recreated you in Christ Jesus, all things have
become new.
